Bye Bye Borup, Hello...

Obsessed with sushi...half off! Tumi = full!
Man oh man it has been a crazy week!

It started off totally normal - just going to work. Sister Borup and I kept in the back of our minds that this was possibly our last week together, so this made for some bittersweet moments.  Then Friday rolled around and we got a call from one of the APs (Assistant to the President) asking for me.. I hesitantly picked up and replied and this is what I heard, "Sister Loyd, on behalf of President Mendenhall will you accept a call to follow-up train?"
....

I felt totally inadequate and was tempted to say no! But of course, The Lord's will, not mine, be done.  So I said yes!! My new companion's name is Sister Riddle and she's coming from Commerce City!!!!! (where I was just at!) She also was being trained by my last companion Sister Hudson! Lots of similarities here.  Anyway, she's already been out for 6 weeks, so I'm just finishing up her training with her! I definitely don't feel worthy of being a trainer, but I'm having faith in the saying "Whom the Lord calls, he qualifies".  I did get to meet her yesterday and she seemed really nice and fun so I'm excited to see how it all goes! Especially in Downtown ;)

Anyway, MORE BIG NEWS!!! But first, funny back story.. Before my mission mom and dad were looking hardcore into moving, one of those places being Boulder, CO.  This meant looking at houses, applying for jobs, searching schools, etc. etc.  They kept praying and received the answer, "not yet, just wait".  WEEELLL some interesting things happened to the mission this week.  The Colorado Denver North mission has just picked up two new stakes-  Parker South and Boulder!!!! We didn't have any new missionaries really coming in this transfer, but many are leaving.  This meant President had to disperse the missionaries he had into two new stakes without obtaining more missionaries first.  So a lot of missionaries who shared a ward were pulled out and now cover two different wards. Some of the YSA missionaries were pulled out and put with other wards. The list goes on and on! My belief is that my parents couldn't move to Boulder because I'm meant to serve there one day! You see how this could create an issue.... So thanks mom and dad for listening to that prompting!

5k run...I mean...uh...walk
Going right along with that, yesterday was Memorial Day, of course. So the mission got together to run a mission 5k!! It was so much fun and seeing everyone in the mission is always interesting/entertaining.  The weather was just absolutely perfect- not too hot not too cold and no clouds in the sky.  Us missionaries had to run together as a Zone (other missionaries in your area that cover other wards) which meant that you could only go as fast as the slowest person on your team.  Consequently, we had a great running start which turned into a light jog and ultimately into walking in a matter of 5 minutes... BUT it was still so much fun!! We took pictures and talked and encouraged one another! It's always fun when your zone is full of elders only and you watch them scream at each other and throw footballs and do flips, etc.  Kinda felt like I was back in high school for a minute... It was great :)

Anyway, right after we had something we call Transfer Doctrine aka where the Zone gets together to reveal who's leaving/staying and who their new companion is. I already knew my result but Sister Borup was still anxious to find out where she'd be for her last transfer and who'd she be with... A little back story to that- Sister Borup trained a sister (sister Nelson) a few
Transfer Doctrine
months ago who had to go home because of health issues.  However, the sister was able to come back out and has been here for a few weeks now! Sister Borup looooooooves her and was so excited to see her again.  Well anyway,   as our transfer info was revealed we found out that she was opening one of the new areas in Parker South WITH SISTER NELSON!!  When  this was announced Sister Borup flung back in her seat and screamed at the top of her lungs ðŸ˜‚ She was SO excited we had to run outside and jump and call the other sister to tell her the news!!! It was so stinkin sweet! While I'm sad she has to leave me, I'm soooo so happy she's gonna be where and with the people/place she wanted!

Don't touch!!!
Needless to say its been a crazy week filled with crazy experiences.  I'm very excited to see how this next transfer goes, but ill definitely need lots of prayers as I help try to train this new sister! Thank you so much for your support and prayers you already give, i love you all so much.

And just a quick shoutout.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MOMMY AND PAPA!!!!!!!!! I love you guys with all my heart and hope you have a fabulous day!!!!!!

xoxo
