...back to 16th street to sing more hymns...

Happy 5 month mark to meeee!!

Yummy crazy licorice!!!
Ok just had to get that out.  Anyway, this week has been so good!  Being a trainer is so great and humbling! Wednesday was transfers and I had to say goodbye to dear Sister Borup, but we are both where we need to be! Sister Riddle came in and has been so amazing! She is already very solid in her missionary skills- confident, great teacher, positive, etc. etc.   She makes it easy on me that's for sure! She's from Texas, Dallas area, but is a farm body- so this whole city thing has been pretty different for her.  Regardless though, she's handling everything so well! I even got her to try some of my favorite sushi (she's never had any before 😱).

The day she got here we went to the famous 16th Street Mall.  This is a street with mall stores all up and down.  In between the road is a median with concession stands, street artists, people giving bike carriage rides, and sporadically placed pianos.  As we were walking to dinner, we had some time to kill, so I suggested we play and sing some hymns on those pianos.  So we did! It was so much fun!! It really invited the spirit too, and soon a mini crowd gathered around. We talked to some ladies who videoed us and then gave them our card! Then, out of nowhere, some girls yell "Sisters?!"  We looked over and two young ladies ran over to us! They told
Iowa sisters!
us their names and announced how they had just gotten off their missions in Iowa!! After talking for a bit, they asked what our favorite color was, ran away, and then came out of a store with rock candies in blue and green! They were just the sweetest!!

Anyway, the next day Sister Riddle got pretty sick, so we had to stay inside for the majority of the day.  We did, however, make it to an appointment with a lady we just found.  She's been inactive since she was 13 and has had a really hard life.  She and her son really want to make it back to church so we're helping her with that as well as teaching the Restored gospel again!

Saturday, Sister Riddle and I and the Elders went back to 16th street to sing more hymns and see if we could hand out Books of Mormon and whatnot.  It, of course, was so much fun and lots of people did approach us and record us.  Funny though that most of the people who approached us were either members of the church at one point or had lived in Utah and knew all about the church! One of those men came up to us and told us how much he LOVES the missionaries and that he has a water company down the street where its always free for missionaries!!! Sister Riddle actually really needed water, so we were about to go get some when we realized what his water company was- water mixed with the ganja... :) Haha I love Denver!

Anyways, that was about it for this week! I'm so grateful for everybody's support.  I feel and see the effects of your prayers and love and I'm so thankful! The power of prayer is a very strong thing.  Our Father in Heaven knows our needs AND WANTS and will give them to us if it be His will.  Funny story on that - a lot of times we go to apartment complexes that are locked or someone's name isn't in the call box (but they still could be in the building).  This was the case for someone we tried to see the other day, and I just really wanted to get in to be sure! We snuck around the back of the apartment- no luck.  We tried to run into the parking lot before the gate shut after cars went through- no luck.  We waited for people and asked if anyone knew who we were trying to find- no luck.  Finally, I prayed and said "Heavenly Father.. I just want to be sure that this person is here or not. Also... I really have to use the bathroom.. if You could help a sista out.."    Lo and behold,
Bubba Gump Shrimp Company is comin'
moments later a pizza man came through the back door! I bolted for the door and at the last minute caught the handle! We were able to get inside, find out the person did not live there anymore, and use the restroom.  It was all beautiful :) So God truly answers prayers, even for the littlest things! We just have to open our eyes and see the tender mercies He gives us!

Ok story time over.  But again, thank you so much for your love and support! I love you all and hope all is well! Stay happy, humble, and hungry. God bless!
