Last week on Sister Loyd's last episode, there was mention of a hike with a cave...Weeeeeell.....
We didn't go. We stayed at the church and played volleyball all day. I love Volley ball!! But you would think with a zone full of Elders they'd want to play some kind of football or kick ball or something!!! No. They wanted to play four square and volley ball.... So to make up for that, we (sister Nelson and I) are going to our Sister's zone to their Zone Pday today!!! And we're going to be playing..... QUIDDITCH!!!!!!!!!! HAZAR!!!! We're pretty stoked. Sister Nelson is wearing her Gryffindor socks. I told her when I get home I'll "get sorted" via Pottermore and buy some socks from the house that I'm in
(not sure if the mission has made me nerdier or what..)
Monday night we had dinner with our bishop. He invited a friend over for dinner that's been coming to church with him! Dinner was delicious (enchilada soup) and then we taught the Restoration with Fred. It went so well! The bishop contributed a lot and every one cried- including Fred. We extended the baptismal invitation and he accepted!!! Fred is set to be baptized on April 8th!
Tuesday was what we call the "Monthly Car Fast"... that's right, no car. The weather was actually really great, just super windy! But we walked a lot, talked to a lot of people, even found a new investigator while tracting!!! Her name is Leeana and she is the sweetest older lady who has been through a lot. She was very interested in the Book of Mormon so we gave her one and said we come back next week to talk about it! Right after we walked away the apartment golf cart guy kicked us out.... Even though we told him we werent soliciting, he said it was private property and that we have to respect that. Whatever Satan.... It was time for us to go anyway though! The walk back to the car was so nice, I talked to Sister Nelson the entire time about how much I love Halloween and that i used to do my little sister's costume and makeup.. she probably thinks im a freak but its fine :)
Thursday was a beautiful day, so we had district meeting outside! Right after District meeting we took our lunch and i got the kite i bought (for the hike that never happened) and started flying it! It was so fun!!!! Its the little things really... lol
Friday was a normal day and so was Saturday! We tracted A LOT. Almost got kicked out of apartments again, but its fine. By the time we were done tracting we felt like we had run a marathon. Our legs we jello. Thats when you know youve worked hard :) Also the fact that we got two new investigaotrs WOOHOO! During tracting you dream about your next meal sometimes... okay all the time. We asked each other what we think we'll have and we both said chicken or steak with some green veggies... grilled. That was wishful thinking of course, but we got to dinner and what were we having? STEAK AND CHICKEN GRILLED WITH BROCOLI AND MASH POTATOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder why the Spirit gives us revelation on certain things but hey im not complaining! And it was delicious. We got left overs for lunch today ;D
Sunday was pretty crazy.. We went to our ward which was good, then took a short lunch break in the kitchen and went to the next ward. This is the Ward the Robert and D'ona have to go to. Update on them- D'ona actually has 5 kids ranging from 12-3 months! They were a tad late so we literally had to walk to the very front row with all the kids and try our best to be inconspicuous... yea that didnt happen. lol Anyway, church went really well though and everyone had fun!!! The 11 year old boy, Breck, came back from class and said, "Mom they gave me a nickname! Its Breck-fest..." We laughed and then the little 4 year old said "AND IM DINNER!!" Her name is Farrah... lol we cracked up! Church is great!
Right after that we had another great lesson with Fred and the Bishop- the Plan of Salvation. There were tears again, and baptism is still something he wants!! He is so wonderful! Oh did i mention he lives in a trailer in our back yard? Haha yea, we get to keep a close eye on Fred lol.
Welp that was pretty much our week!! Lots of great things happening! I'm reminded of the term "When one door closes, two more opens" and how true that is, especially in missionary work!!
The feeling of having the Spirit with you so abundantly that its almost second nature is a marvelous feeling! I treasure it! I want it to be even more prominent! I know that immersing ourselves with things of the Spirit (D&C11:12) helps us make decisions that will be for our benefit! We will be blessed! Jesus told his Apostles as long as they keep every one of God's commandments Satan can have no power over them. This is true in our lives today- as long as we are doing what the Lord wants and keeping his commandments Satan has no power over our lives. It's DIVINE LAW. I want to challenge you all (and im taking this challenge myself as well) to read the scriptures, find the commandments we've been given, and implement them each day. I promise you that you'll see a greater influx of the Spirit with you, you'll feel joy in being obedient, you becoming closer to your Savior and Satan will have no power over you!!
I love you all so much!! Thank you for all your continuous love and support! I hope you have a great week!!
Love Always,
Sister Loyd
