Weeeeeell then Saturday morning happened...

Hello Hello Hello!

Oh what a week it has been! We have been so blessed to hear the words of our Beloved Prophet and his Apostles and other General Authorities.  Their Wisdom, along with the Spirit, definitely inspired me to change a few things, and I hope it did for you all too!

This week has been such a great one! It started off with us going to 16th St mall on Monday.  Our Mondays are always crammed for time, but we had a few errands to run.  After we were done with that we were rushing to get back to the car (before the Meter ran out) when a man stopped us.  He had a big camera in his hands and asked if he could take our picture, interview us, and feature us in a magazine... I felt like we just walked straight out of a movie.... Well we asked permission from our leaders and go the go-ahead, so we had a mini photo-shoot on 16th street! He asked us each one deep question. Mine- What would i say is my strength? Sister Nielsen- If you died what would be your biggest regret right now? Hard questions.... But we will hopefully be featured in the "Metrosphere" magazine in 2 weeks about the unique people who walk 16th street :)

Well Tuesday came and we had an appointment with our new investigator Wanda and her son Troy (the one with the pink beard).  We taught the Plan of Salvation and at the end we extended the baptismal invite.  Before we could even say the full invitation she exclaimed "YES! I've been waiting for you to ask me, but YES!" We were ALL so excited!! She later described that when she accepted she felt a sense of immense Joy and relief from her head to her toes, and that made her know she'd made the right decision!!

On Wednesday we had an another amazing experience.  There is a part member family we just started teaching.  The wife NEVER let missionaries in before, but she said that she felt very comfortable with us! So the first lesson we invited her to read and pray about the Book Of Mormon and talked about how the Spirit answers us in many different ways.  This week we came back and asked if she'd read.  She said she had! And that she prayed about it! She said she didn't get an answer right away, but that night her and her husband were sitting out on the porch looking at the stars when all of a sudden a shooting star went by! She said she'd only seen a shooting star one other time and that was when she was a little girl.  She also mentioned that as soon as she saw that, that my words came into her head about the Spirit testifying of Truth!!! She didn't know if that was her answer, but we both testified that it was!! That was a miracle!!!!

Later that day we had to go to our investigator Vanessa's house.  She recently had a liter of kitties be born and has been trying to get rid of them.  One lady in our ward did take one of them, but the rest stayed behind. Due to poor living conditions we found out one kitty died and the other ones were sick and possibly had a broken leg.  Now Vanessa has every intention of taking care of these kitties the best she could, however she cant do much with what she has.  So we contacted another lady in our ward and we went over to Vanessa's house and got the rest of the kitties! The lady then took them straight to the Vet and they are now living richly! We don't just save souls, we save Kitties!!!

Thursday was fun as well. We took our car into the body shop to get an estimate, only to find out the manager is a less active member.  He was so nice to us but told us his sob story and how he plans to return once things have calmed down in his life.  We were able to testify to him of the power of prayer and importance of church and even said a prayer with him right then and there! The Lord places people in our path for a reason.

Friday we went to a nearby area for a service project.  Due to travel time we had to stop and get something to eat there.  Bonefish was the first option, but I'm a broke missionary so that didn't happen... But we decided on a Mexican restaurant that reminded me ALOT of Tapatios! The food was DELICIOUS and our waitress was a member preparing to go on her mission! She gave us a free dessert <3 Weeeeeell then Saturday morning happened. Both Sister Nielsen and I got really sick... We were bound and determined to make it through conference though, so we loaded up on drugs and made the best of it. It was worth it. Conference was amazing.  We also went to the Priesthood Session and man... you don't know awkward till you are a sister walking into the Priesthood session... Lol but it was just amazing!!! And we already have people in mind who's talks from that session would help them!

Sunday came and we were still sick :( But again, we weren't going to miss conference!!! Every where we went that day we fought nausea, but again, it was worth it! Also, I got to help a lady in our ward decorate her house with Halloween decorations while she gave us her unwanted decorations for our place! What a blessing!!! It definitely made our place more homey :)
That night we had an appointment with a girl named Gabrielle.  We talked with her and she is just the funniest and loving person! She wants to be closer to God, so we extended the Baptismal invitation and she said yes!!! She even said she wants to do it now!!!

All in all, if you cant tell, it truly was an amazing week!!!!  Lots of investigators coming out of the wood work and baptisms are on the way... BUT transfers are here...
And the verdict is.... *drum roll please*.....

I will be leaving Downtown and going to Parker as an STL (Sister Training Leader) with one of my favorite sisters, Sister Sherwood!!!!

Parker is a wealthy area and we live with members. Oh and we drive a jeep! IM SO EXCITED to be going here, especially for the Holidays!!!!! This was my ideal situation, and it happened!!!! The Lord has been soooo gracious and merciful towards me on my mission. I had the blessing of serving in the infamous DT Denver for 6 months with some of my favorite companions, and amazing people, and cool experiences along the way. But I am excited for what the future holds as well... But if that wasn't enough... Sister Nielsen is ALSO going to be an STL! In a different area though.. But she is so qualified and I cant wait to see that amazing things she does as well! This means they are sweeping City Park, which is UNHEARD OF! So we got a lot of packing to do today... 6 months worth of getting cozy... hopefully everything fits :)

Anyways, Its been a wonderful week full of miracles and blessings. Again conference was amazing, inspiring, and true! My favorite.... Dallin H Oaks talk... Read it. Study it. And then go DO!!! Missionary work is no longer just the job of full-time missionaries- We are ALL missionaries!!!! It can be hard to do the work, but pray for the desire, help, and opportunities and the Lord will bless you! There is no greater Joy than that of bringing a soul to Christ.

I love you all and hope you're doing well!!! Its still fairly warm here, but I here its gonna freezing this week- literally. :/ But everybody stay safe and comfortable wherever you're at!!!

I wish you all the best and pray for you each night!! Love you more than anything!!!!!

Sister Loyd
