Hello everybody! Hope everyone had a great week!!!
This week has been wonderful! We received a lot more investigators! One was from a less active member, Troy (he has a pink beard), and he called us in desperation because him and his mom had no food. He wanted the Bishop Storehouse food, but we knew he wouldn't get that for a little while, so we decided to pack them up a lot of the canned food we had at the house and give it to them! Once we got there to deliver it, we found out his mom wanted to be taught. We taught her and it looks very promising, she's very receptive! The next investigator is another part-member family. We had a pre-temple-lesson with her and her husband before they went to Fort Collins, so we came back and followed up. She said she's NEVER let missionaries in before, but that she really likes us and we are welcome any time! We are also gaining more progressing investigators, which is such a good feeling! I love the people here.
Saturday we worked all day by a lake to set up for a Down Syndrome 5k. We had to set up gates and tents and tables and equipment and so on. Our entire Zone was there, as well as other volunteers that included down syndrome kids, and it required lots of manual labor... needless to say I dropped a few things and may or may not have broken a pop up tent.... JK! kinda.. Anyways, it was beautiful weather!! But just a few hours later a storm started rolling in and the wind kicked up big time! They said up to 30 mph winds!!! Lots of tents blew over and broke :( We did the best we could with duct tape but we could only get so far... But despite all that it was a very fun and rewarding experience!
Last night President had all the sisters in the mission come to our church building for a Fireside! It was all about the Temple and the experiences we had there. MANY many miracles happened, and many people we met there showed up again in the missionaries lives' IN their area! Talk about inspired! For instance, a woman came up to me at church this Sunday with a younger woman and said she'd met me at the Temple and brought her friend to this ward for us! The friend is a 23 year old convert of 7 years who lives in our area the older lady used to be her Young Woman's leader!!! What a wonderful story of a heroic rescue (

Many other tremendous things happened that we were all able to testify about. What stuck with me most is that President said to never forget the experience we had in the Temple. To not just remember as a time on our mission, but to let it become a part of us and draw from those experiences on our hard days. It was definitely a good reminder to never let miracles and blessings go unnoticed or to demean their divinity. I will always treasure my experience as a Temple Missionary.
Well that's about it for this week! This is the last week before transfers, aka possibly my last week in Downtown Denver.... im so sad. I don't ever want to leave. But I know the Lord has other plans and needs me elsewhere, so I will Go and Do! But stay tuned to see what actually happens :)
I hope you all have a wonderful week!!!! If you're in FL, stay cool...
Lol Love you all so much!!!!!!
xo,
Sister Loyd
