Hello family and friends!!
Oh what a week it has been- a good one at that!
It started out with FHE last monday night about Temples- such a fun lesson! I now know more about temples and their history than I probably ever would have before. We forgot to take pictures of it all but I promise it was cool!
Anyway, the next day we went on exchanges with the STLs. I went to Aurora South with Sister Sherwood who I just love! We had a lot of fun and taught a lot of people. In the mornings at 6am some members rigged up a cross fit gym at the church, so we woke up early and went to that! I was so excited cause I miss these kinds of workouts. Well we got there and ran two warm-up laps around the church... yea I think that's the first time in a long time my asthma really kicked in and I was weazing.. Just after two laps!!! lol well we went back inside and did an awesome awesome workout, it felt so good!!! They also made protein pop sickles for breakfast right after! I felt like I was in Heaven.
Needless to say, though, i was very very sore the next few days.
Anyway, that day we saw one of their investigators that has been seeing missionaries for a long time and hasnt committed to be baptized. Well we taught her and found her concerns, addressed them, and were able to set a baptismal date for her!! We were just about to go home after that to get lunch when we felt prompted to stop at a lady's house. When we got their she answered the door huffing and puffing about how awful her life is right now and that it wasnt a good time. I didnt want to leave without bearing my testimony that all would be okay and that she could find lasting peace, so I did just that. She continued to talk with us about her struggles and we continued to testify. We could see her walls breaking down because she started to cry. She told us how she was actually just on the way out to go to a mental hospital because she was having "dangerous thoughts" and needed help. After a while of talking she invited us in. We continued to help and testify where we could, but mostly just listen to her. Eventually, she became much more calm and even started smiling and laughing with us. Her sister came in at one point as well and we could feel the situation lightening. By the time we finished up she seemed back to normal and that she actually had clarity on her situation. She hugged us and thanked us profusely for coming when we did and helping her through this.
It's moments like these that testify to me how true the Gospel is, how the Spirit really does lead and guide us, and how Heavenly Father knows and loves his children SO much. Im so grateful to have been a tool in His hands to minister to this sweet sister and help her feel of worth and loved. Im so grateful that I have this Gospel in my life to have this knowledge for myself but also to be able to share it with others! Miracles happen everyday, but I know this was a big one.
If that wasnt interesting enough for ya, we also went to an apartment building to find a few people but upon knocking doors, we saw a man down the hallway sprawled out on the floor, covered in blood.. There was a woman next to him frantically talking on the phone with 911. The man was actually awake but very disoriented and groaning. We walked over to offer our help, but they told us that help was on the way. The man said he had just worked too hard and passed out. We think he may have hit his nose when he hit the ground- hence the blood. We couldnt help physically, but they did ask us to pray for him, so we got his name and prayed for his safety and comfort. As we were pulling out of the complex we saw the ambulance had come and was helping him already! Again, miracles happen!
So those were an eventful two days to say the least! But Sunday... oh man. Probably one of my favorite days so far. It started out with us going to a different area, outside of Downtown, for church. This was the case because our investigator Jen Mallory is in the Greenwood Village ward but has specifically requested to be taught by sisters. She also said she wasnt comfortable going to Church by herself without knowing anyone, so we got permission to go with her this one Sunday. Upon getting there, I thought we were in Utah! SOO many people are in this ward- all beautiful, all with families, and so nice! Jen had a great experience and sooo many people reached out to her! The lessons were so wonderful and even the building was gorgeous! Dont get me wrong though, i love my area and everyone/thing in it, but it was interesting to see a new side of CO like this. Anyway, Jen is doing AMAZING and she is set to be baptized September 4!!!!
After our lesson with Jen we left and went right to another church building to meet with President and some other Sisters. We all piled into the mission van and headed off to Fort Collins!! It was a fun drive with everyone and I just love President. He's like my dad away from home! Anyway, we got there and met with all the Fort Collins sisters and went into the Chapel of the stake center next to the Temple (which is gorgeous by the way). We had a brief training on how to present everything and then Elder Wilford W. Anderson of the 70 spoke to us. He then lead us through the newly built Fort Collins Temple as one of the first groups to go through! Each room we walked through he would stop and say a few words about it. Once we stopped in a very beautiful room (the first instruction room) and he sat us all down. It became a Q&A session with him. At first we were all kind of nervous to ask questions, but one of the men there pointed out that we will probably never again have the opportunity to talk to a General Authority about whatever we wanted in a newly built temple... so we jumped on it! Lots of good questions were asked and it was a really awesome experience! Something ill always remember. From there we went to the reception area and took pictures and went over how to work the photo booth for visitors. After that we just gathered our things and got back on the van and headed home! It was so fun to be with everyone and go on a mini road trip and ultimately feel the Spirit!
While there we received our schedules for working!! Here it is-
Wednesday, August 17, We will be working the morning session from 9-2.
Friday, August 19, We work the afternoon session from 2-8.
Wednesday, August 24, again from 9-2.

Anyway, today we are taking Jen to the Temple open house for a special private "missionary/investigator tour"!! We are so excited and cant wait to see the House of the Lord once again :)
Thats about it for this week but man its gonna be another crazy week next week too! We're so excited! I love you all and miss yall and hope all is going well!! Always remember if you keep God's commandments, you WILL prosper! Its promised time and time again in the scriptures!
