Then we went and saw the dinosaurs and nature exhibits and so on. Super fun!! After that we had dinner with a Sister right in the middle of downtown next to Union Station beside water fountains spurting out of the ground.. again, perks of being downtown. Pics of these things coming soon!
Anyway, Wednesday we had a lesson with one of our investigators Vanessa. She's a sassy woman and is sooo funny! She forgets a lot of things but we'll see how well she does with remembering this week! Side note: she's also studying with Jehovah's Witnesses, which is fine and all, until you walk in on their Bible study with her for your appointment.... awkward.
This Friday we had a trainer's meeting with all the other trainer's and their "newbies". It was so fun to see everyone and, of course, we learned a lot! It's always good to be reminded of your purpose and to reevaluate make more goals! All was going really well until... dun dun dun... Sister Riddle got sick.. Right away we knew what was going on. It all started on Wednesday night when one of the Elders was on exchanges with our Elders. That night he got really sick and was in all day the next day. Well, the Elder that he was on exchanges with caught it and was also really sick that next day. AND THEN Sister Riddle started complaining about her stomach, until about an hour later it all came back up and she was really sick for a day. So that's been no fun :( But she's still staying strong and trying to do what she can!
This transfer is almost over and I've been studying the Christ-like Attribute of Hope. I haven't put much emphasis on it though. However, lately with different things going on my "hope" has definitely been and continues to be tested. I wasn't really aware of this and just thought things weren't going as well as they could've, until I took a step back and saw the bigger picture: Every time I try to develop a Christ-like Attribute, the Lord will test me in the most personal of ways to see how far my understanding and testimony of the attribute can really grow. And every time, it does grow. My point to all of this is that Heavenly Father is very aware of our needs/wants/desires. Whenever you want something, especially an attribute like patience, faith, self-discipline, etc., He's going to give you the OPPORTUNITY to exercise that. He won't just grant you what you want- you have to have the experience to gain a testimony and therefore implement it as a natural attribute in your life. So whatever you're focusing on in life- such as bettering your schooling, work, family, and so on- know that The Lord will bless you with the opportunity to do that! And He will give us the strength and remembrance to do it as well! If it's important to us, it's important to Him.
Well that's been about it for this week! Today our P-day plans- go find a park and sleep/tan. Its gonna be great
Anyway, thank you so much again for sending me emails every week! It means a lot and I cherish your support and love! Ill continue praying for you all, hope all is well!
Love Always,
Sister Loyd
