Sooooo, Boulder might be it for me!

Hello Lovely Family and Friends!!! I hope you guys had a good last week!
My week was full of missionary work- surprise!! No it was pretty great though!

Tuesday was our monthly Car Fast.... This would've been great because the weather has been amazing lately, however, we live in Colorado.... the weather is NEVER consistent. SO, of course on the one day we didn't have a car, it was snowing ALL DAY LONG. It made for an interesting day. However, that morning we were asked to give a training in a different city, so we got permission to drive there in the morning #Bless. But then we got back and started walking. We tracted and met a girl named Clarissa! She opened up and was very nice. We told her about the Easter Video and asked if we could watch it with her- she said yes! We watched it on her porch, taught and testified, and asked if we could come back. She agreed and we set up an appointment with her for a time her and her family would be there! Yay! We walked back to our car and drove to dinner (the car fast was over by then). We got to dinner and we were starving! We walked inside and sat down with the mom and her son.. we talked for a little bit. We figured we were waiting for the husband to come back down so we continued talking... 30 minutes went by.. 45 minutes... an hour... we finally started teaching because we didn't know what else to do... an hour and a half later I finally said "well we gotta get going, we have an appointment to get to" so she jumped right up and started putting our food on plates with a salad and everything.... so we sat down to eat. We finally got out of there about 10 minutes later and walked back to our car in the ever increasing snow.... Very strange dinner. But hey, we hope the message helped them!!!

Wednesday we met with Clarissa and her mom. Her mom, Guadalupe, doesnt speak any english, but listened to us anyway! One we started teaching she said that the Spanish Elders used to come by a lot!.. we asked if they had a Book of Mormon and they said they did! We started wrapping up the lesson and told them the Spanish Elders would come back by to see them but Clarissa insisted that we come back for her! So yay we still get to teach her! Then we had a lesson with our investigator Fred which went very well and also Robert and D'ona. We actually finished up ALL the lessons with Rob and D'ona and discussed the kids wanting to be baptized. So starting today we are now going to be teaching the kids every other week and preparing them for baptism too!! We are so excited!

Thursday was good! We went to District Meeting and tracted in an apartment complex. We found a new investigator named Karie! She used to live in Salt Lake City so she opened right up and let us watch the Easter Video with her! She said how much she's always liked the Mormon people and especially the religion- she used to just go and walk Temple Square all the time- but she never took formal lessons. We offered to start that with her and she accepted!! She suffers from a lot of health problems and actually just went into the hospital this weekend, so we're praying she gets better and we can meet with her soon!

Friday we had interviews with President and Sister Mendenhall.... During my interview with them they asked me the dreaded question I thought would never come..... "Where would you like to die?".... BLEH! Never! I said Its up to the Lord, HOWEVER.... there's is a wedding here that I'm gonna HAVE to go to. So, if I get sent away then I'll need to come back for that and their baptisms! He said it might be a good idea to just keep me here then, if its okay with the Lord. So, Boulder might be it for me!

Later that day we went to see our long time investigator Paige. She is slightly Autistic and has a cat named Ozzie that she just cant live without. Paige was supposed to be baptized in March but she got scared and backed out. We've been trying to help her ever since. Upon us knocking on the door she opened up and started talking to us... but didn't let us right in. She grabbed her cat while talking and started messin with his arm... She started pulling his shoulder in such a way that he started growling. Then she would lean him towards me and pull on his shoulder more so he started hissing and scratching! I don't think she knew that we knew what she was doing.. but we did. We know from her talking about other people that if Ozzie hisses at somebody that that person is "not a good person" and she wont let them in her house... She kept saying "I don't know why he would ever hiss at y'all, he never does that to missionaries!"... well we knew. Basically we got the message that we weren't welcome anymore. So instead of trying to resolve her concerns about baptism, we had to drop her... It was sad but clearly she's not ready just yet :(   Oh well, one day!

Saturday night we went to see Lamb of God with Robert and Dona and all the kids!! We drove to CU which is a beautiful school full of hippies and went to their auditorium for the show! SO MANY PEOPLE WERE THERE. I got to see lots of people from past areas and other missionaries, so that was fun. The Rep. for Lamb of God was in our ward so she got us tickets and even reserved us seating in the middle front! The production is an Oratorio about the final days of Christ from His friends perspective! It was sooooooo beautiful!!! Very well done!!! And the D'onas family really enjoyed it too!

Sunday was just a normal day back in 70 degree weather and here we are today! We have Zone Conference coming up this week and we have been asked to train on how to make approaches to people "not awkward"... Pray for us... haha but we bought little goodies to put in Easter Eggs to give out to people cause basically if you don't have a handout no one remembers the training... lol Again, pray for us.

This week is Holy Week. Instead of just remembering Christ on Easter, lets make an exerted effort to remember Him all week this week! Study about what He was doing on each day and try to apply the principles He taught! You can do that here- https://www.mormon.org/easter/easter-week.

This season has recently become very near and dear to my heart. The sacrifice the Savior made to give us all new life- FREELY- is beyond my mortal comprehension of love. I cannot repay Him for everything He has given me. I want to, but I cant. His sacrificial gift keeps giving. Sin no longer has to weigh us down if we repent. Heartache can be over come by hope. And death doesn't have to sting. He fixed that for us by following the Father's Will.

"And it came to pass that he stretched forth his hand and spake unto the people, saying:
Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world. And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning."

-3 Nephi 11:9-11

I love my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ so much. Happy Easter Everybody!
I hope you all have a great week and really keep the reason for the season in mind- daily!! It is wonderful! Eat lots of candy and eggs for me! Love you all!!!
