Wow this week has been crazy! So good! I got to facetime home and that is always great! I loved seeing all your beautiful faces!
Monday the next morning I actually felt pretty sick... For really the first time on the mission I had to stay in bed for a few hours and rest. I woke up later that morning and felt a lot better so no worries! Probably post-holiday trauma to my tummy. lol.
Tuesday was Sister Sherwood and I's last day together... it was sad. But it was fun while it lasted! The next day was full of transfer extravaganzas! We got all our sisters settled in and ourselves and we're excited to start a new transfer! Sister T (Tafengatoto) is so great! She's Tongan and I already made her promise me that she has to teach me Tongan dancing!
Thursday we had our District Meeting and our new district seems pretty fun! We tracted a lot that day and met a guy named Joe. He had already read the Book of Mormon and has a few member friends. We asked if he had prayed about it and he said no so we invited him to do so and he said sure! We asked if we could come back and talk about it and he accepted willingly! We're excited to see how Joe turns out!
Yesterday was MY BIRTHDAY WOOP WOOP!!! I woke up to the kitchen decorated with balloons and streamers and pancakes in the shape of Micky Mouse!!! It was delicious. Then I opened all the presents- they were all so great!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! The letters were all fantastic too!
Next we weekly planned and then went to lunch with our ward mission leader's family to a fancy steak house called Salt Grass! It was DELICIOUS!
They were playing the best country music too. It was like a little piece of Heaven. :) After that we went and saw some people and then came home to the Guthries for dinner! While we were gone they had baked and decorated their own cake for me!!! Guess what it was..... Minnie Mouse!! Lol It was a Disney Birthday for sure :) For dinner we had Elk!! Then we went and saw the Zimmerman family (one of the referrals our Ward Mission Leader gave us) and they were sweet as always. We did the survey with them and ended up leaving them a Book of Mormon!! And to top it all off..... they are HUGE Disney fans, so we talked about that and reminisced on all the good times we had there! Basically it was a great way to end my birthday.
Today is New Years Eve AND its Pday! So basically, Its another Bday! This next week is going to be a long one..... We wont have another Pday till next next monday the 9th. So dont be alarmed!
Anyways, something ive learned this week is just how much the Book of Mormon nourishes us. I cant go a day without reading it where i dont feel off or like something is missing. The words within are the Words of God and i know it is divine revelation to us all. It gives me strength everyday. It gives me clarity to know God's will and Satans will and helps me discern whats true and false. It brings me closer to God than any other book. I love the Book of Mormon and the Gospel with all my heart. Even moreso, I love my Savior and all he's done for me and continues to do for me!
I love you all and hope you have a Happy New Year!! Talk to you soon!
Love always,
Sister Loyd
