Oh, what a week it has been! A good one at that!
Last Tuesday all the sister missionaries in this mission had conference in Downtown Denver! The city was soooo beautiful and I even told the mission president's wife I wouldn't mind serving there *hint hint*. I'll send pictures! But the conference was wonderful in itself. Very "sister" oriented, but sometimes that's what you need!
Later that week was where the fun began.... Caitlin Hansen, after a full 3 weeks of teaching, got baptized Saturday April 2nd in between General Conference sessions! She is such a sweet spirit and is so ready to be a full-fledged member of the Church! We love her and her commitment so much :) Funny story though.....
So, General Conference was this weekend at 10, and because the baptismal font takes a good 2 1/2 hours to fill up we had to be at the Church at 9:30am. So we got there, turned on the font and started watching conference. At about an hour in we noticed the font was already full! We knew this wasn't right so we checked the temperature and low and behold it was cold... we still had two more hours to go till the baptism, so we decided to unplug it and let some drain and fill it back up with warm water. However, there was no way to unplug and then plug back up the font without actually getting inside. So after much deliberation, I decided to throw on a marshmallow suit, put my hair up, and take a little swim! I felt like I was about to be baptized for the second time lol. Problem was, I couldn't get out of the font until it was done draining because I still had to re-plug it... SO, I sat there and watched General Conference from the
Baptismal Font in my white suit. Guys, I don't think it gets more Celestial than that...Haha just kidding, but it was a really cool experience!

Anyhow, Conference was truly amazing! My companion and I were able to spend the night at a member's house two nights in a row (I felt like I was on vacation) and it was like a home away from home. We watched two sessions there, one at the church, and one at another member's house who has the cutest little baby (that may or may not have been the reason we asked to come over and watch there.
Overall though, I have many impressions about this year's General Conference.
1) God is a God of order and consistency, so why would that change when we need guidance now more than ever? It's extremely comforting to know that just like times of old, we are still led by a prophet to guide us in this world of turmoil and opinions. How tremendously blessed are we to have a faithful, loving, and Christ-like Prophet of the world. I love him and pray for him daily.
2) There was a lot of focus on families, temples, having a close relationship with the Lord, and so on. All of these things are vital in this life and I'm so grateful for the reminders and motivation we receive from General Conference. and

Here it is - https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2016/04/media/session_5_talk_11/4829903593001?lang=eng
This talk was truly inspired. Whenever we feel down, burdened, or not good enough, think of his words! Heaven is ROOTING for us! Don't ever think that we are alone in our dealings with this life. We get credit for even just TRYING to be good! Heavenly Father loves us "with all His heart, might, mind and strength", and He will help us in all that we do. So my invitation to everyone is to read this and think of at LEAST 1 thing you got from General Conference and apply it to your lives. Live it, master it, let it become a natural attribute. I promise as you do this and inquire of your Father in Heaven to help you, He will do everything He can to help you!
Okay missionary rant over! Anyway, I love all of you guys so very much! This week is going to be great with another baptism to finish it off! I love this work, I LOVE the restored Gospel, and I love chocolate.... :)
Have a great week everyone! Don't forget to pick a goal to work on! LOVE YOUUUU!!
Sister Loyd
